What is Canvas Printing?

Canvas printing has quickly become popular as an alternative means of photo presentation instead of a photo in a frame.  This process is in some ways similar to traditional photo printing, however instead of using photo paper, the image is transferred onto a specially made canvas, similar to those used by painting artists.  You can read more about this at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canvas_printing.

Some facts about Canvas

Not all canvas printing is equal.  The end result can be affected by a variety of factors such as poor quality canvas, inferior inks, and the timber used to make the frame.  We use a long time supplier which only use the finest materials available worldwide.

Canvas is 100% cotton and acid free.  It shows characteristic such as water resistance and is archival
rated for 100 years.  There is no polyester blend, and it weight is more denim rather than a bed sheet.

Only genuine Epson Ultrachrome Inks are used, which have been independently colour tested up to
75 years without fading.  Black and White images are printed on a dedicated printer using
6 channels of
varying density black ink which are rated to last 200 years without fading.

Finally, a clear coat of liquid laminate is sprayed over the printed canvas to provide protection against dust,
water, fingerprints, and fungal attack.

The optional frame is constructed from kiln-dried meranti timber, which is less prone to warping and twisting
like softer timbers such as pine.  Profiling on the frame prevents a visibly like appearing on the canvas over
a period of time to ensure you canvas continues to look as good as they day it was purchased.

Creative Ideas

Very popular at the moment are "3 Panel Creations".  This involves taking a single image, dividing it into thirds and printing on each individual panel.  These pieces are then hung together on the wall with a small gap in between.  Taking a sample image from the gallery, the end result would look something like this...
